UK pricing depends on the service type, guest count, menu style, ingredients, staffing, location, and date. ChefaChef uses service-specific pricing guidance in the booking flow, including a UK minimum spend from GBP 300 where applicable.

Per-person event rates usually start around $57 to $99+ per head. General cooking and prep assistance is $40-$60/hour. Multi-day or daily rates range from $300 to $3,000 per day depending on holiday, scale, and chef scope. The client-confirmed minimum guidance is $500 or $75 per person.

Event-based private chef bookings average around EUR 770 for 10 guests. Italian menus start around EUR 48 per person, Middle Eastern around EUR 38 per person, and Fine Dining or Pan-Asian range from EUR 65 to EUR 100+ per person. Occasional cooking ranges from EUR 18-EUR 40/hour and multi-day helper rates range from EUR 200-EUR 1,500/day. The client has not supplied a fixed Italy minimum spend, so the platform shows guidance without inventing one.

Intimate home dining for 2-8 guests is KES 10,000-KES 15,000 flat or KES 2,500-KES 4,000 per person. House parties and small events for 9-15 guests start at KES 20,000+. On-demand chef time is KES 2,000/hour with a typical 3-4 hour minimum. Weekly meal prep starts at KES 15,000+. Kenya bookings also need clear ingredient, grocery-float, and deposit expectations before confirmation.

Minimum spend is country and service specific. Current confirmed guidance includes UK service minimums, USA at $500 or $75 per person, and Kenya minimums such as KES 10,000-KES 15,000 for intimate dining or KES 20,000+ for small events. Italy has no fixed client-supplied minimum yet.

Quoted customer fees cover the agreed scope of work, including grocery shopping where included, ingredient handling, cooking on-site, and cleanup of the cooking site such as ovens, BBQ equipment, and workstations.

The booking flow asks for venue, access, setup, and service-specific equipment details where they matter. For BBQ, for example, clients must confirm whether the chef should bring equipment, the venue has grill equipment, or the setup is not yet clear.

The chef proposal should state exactly what is included. For Kenya, the client confirmed that raw ingredients are usually handled through a separate grocery float or reimbursement against receipts unless a chef quote states otherwise.

Staffing depends on the chosen service, guest count, and proposal. The platform asks service-specific questions where staffing or setup support is likely to affect the quote.

Yes, the approved service scope includes cleanup of the cooking site, such as ovens, BBQ equipment, and workstations, when that cleanup is part of the confirmed booking scope.

ChefaChef does not provide Public Liability Insurance. Each chef is responsible for arranging, paying for, maintaining, and renewing their own appropriate Public Liability Insurance for the services they provide. Country minimums are United Kingdom: £2 million per claim; United States: $2 million aggregate and $1 million per occurrence; Italy: €2 million per claim; France: €2 million per claim; Spain: €2 million per claim; Kenya: KES 5,000,000 per claim. Coverage must include food-borne or food-related illness; product liability; catering work at third-party premises and customer/client premises; the chef performing the work, not only a fixed or home/business insured address. The policy holder must be the chef's own name or the chef's business name. The policy must be in force on the date of every event the chef cooks for. Do not accept a booking while your required insurance cover has lapsed. Keep your Public Liability Insurance and food hygiene qualification certificates available. ChefaChef may request private evidence from an individual chef where reasonably required for a dispute, complaint, or investigation.

The general cancellation reference is full refund when a client cancels more than 7 days before the event. Peak dates such as Christmas Day and New Year's Eve can carry stricter terms. Country-specific rules include USA chef protection inside 7 days, Italy replacement-or-refund support if a chef cancels, and Kenya deposit forfeiture for late cancellation within 48-72 hours.

The application is Stripe-ready and supports checkout once valid Stripe credentials are configured. Bookings more than 5 weeks / 35 days before the earliest service date can use the approved 20% deposit and 80% later-payment policy where the configured payment provider supports that schedule. Bookings 5 weeks / 35 days or fewer away require full payment.

ChefaChef deducts a 15% marketplace commission. Chef payout summaries show the customer payment, platform commission, and final payout by currency. Chefs are independent contractors. ChefaChef provides payment summaries and transfer breakdowns, but formal tax invoices must be issued by chefs when clients require them.
